The CAPIT Reader Training
2-Day In-Person or Virtual
Employing the CAPIT Method to Improve and Simplify Reading Instruction
The CAPIT Reader Training is a hands-on interactive experience that connects reading science and cognitive science with a systematic phonics curriculum and instructional best practices, ensuring educators are prepared to teach phonics efficiently and effectively.
Online Rapid PD
2.5 Hours Online and Virtual
For fast teacher onboarding, Followed by the CAPIT Reader Training later in the year.
The Rapid PD consists of a 90-Minute Online Self-Paced Session and a 60-minute virtual session that lets teachers quickly begin teaching students to read with the CAPIT Reading Curriculum. Teachers are introduced to the CAPIT Reading Curriculum, the Dashboard, Teacher Corner, and more.
Data Coaching Session for Educators
30-Minute Group Session for both new and returning teachers
Takes place 3 to 4 weeks after implementation begins
The 30-Minute Data Analysis Coaching Session for Educators demonstrates how teachers can use the data collected by CAPIT to tailor their instruction to each student's immediate needs.
Additional topics covered: Setting student goals and benchmarks. Harnessing CAPIT data to drive all three tiers of instruction.
Data Coaching Session for Administrators
30-Minute Monthly sessions for administrators and site champions
Admins and site champions learn how to analyze data to help support teachers and optimize student gains. Educators learn the importance of a well-designed phonics skill progression and how to support teachers in setting and attaining student goals and benchmarks.
Ongoing Professional Development
Group sessions for both new and returning teachers
CAPIT conducts teacher professional development sessions throughout the year to enhance teachers’ understanding of evidence-based practices and grow their ability to support their students. Examples: Successful Strategies for Struggling Readers; Teach Spelling Like a Champion; Teaching High-Frequency Words.
The CAPIT Success Team provides year-round coaching and support to all teachers and administrators.
