The CAPIT Reader PD is a hands-on interactive experience that connects reading science and cognitive science with a systematic phonics curriculum and instructional best practices, ensuring educators are prepared to teach phonics efficiently and effectively. It covers the following six essentials necessary to create a R.E.A.D.E.R.
READING SCIENCE: The CAPIT Reader PD teaches educators how to simplify and improve reading instruction using the revolutionary CAPIT Method and its application. We immerse educators in reading science and cognitive science and their effect on curriculum development and classroom instruction.
EDUCATIONAL PLAN: We offer a practical implementation plan for each school and district. Teachers will practice the art of explicit and systematic phonics teaching using CAPIT’s Digital Curriculum and Multisensory Kit™, replete with the tools required to meet the needs of all their students in all three tiers of instruction.
ASSESSMENT: We empower educators to support their students using assessment tools to evaluate, support, and accelerate their student’s reading development. Teachers learn to quickly identify which students are doing well and which require intervention. With CAPIT, teachers can help their students early and not wait until they fail.
DISTRICT/ADMIN SUPPORT: “It Takes a Village” and a combined effort to bring about significant change. Administrators and coaches join the training—with their teachers—to ensure everyone’s goals and expectations are aligned and that teachers have administrator support.
EXTENDED EDUCATION: Learning never ends, and education should be continuous! Over a 2-year course, we connect with educators each month to review what we learned—ensuring The CAPIT Reader PD stays fresh in educators’ minds.
READING CURRICULUM: We provide teachers with a complete phonemic awareness and phonics curriculum that transforms reading science into classroom practices.
