With 22 years of teaching experience, Pattee Folkman of Diamond Canyon knows what works in early education. When her district introduced CAPIT Reading in 2017, she discovered a program so valuable that her school found creative ways to keep it even after district funding was cut.

"Before CAPIT, I was frustrated that we didn't have a specific program that taught explicit and systematic lessons in phonemic awareness and phonics," Pattee explains. "I spent a lot of time pulling supplemental materials to help close the gap." This changed dramatically when CAPIT became part of her kindergarten curriculum.
