Teachers implement the CAPIT Reading Curriculum alongside their core ELA program to supplement phonics instruction. CAPIT covers all foundational reading skills explicitly and systematically and advances learners in phonics as they demonstrate mastery and automaticity of all previous foundational reading skills. CAPIT is competency-based and is one long formative assessment that evaluates students while collecting actionable data for teachers, principals, and district leaders.
